You can join NAMI Wake County where you will find a group of other people with similar experiences. Some people tell us that no one understood their situation until they came to a NAMI Wake County class or support group. For the first time, they felt comfortable after hearing others talking about similar family and personal experiences.
As a Member you will:
• Help strengthen NAMI Wake County’s voice when we advocate for changes to improve the system of mental health care.
• Receive NAMI Wake County’s newsletter, The Iris, and emails on local mental health advocacy, events and programs, the NAMI NC newsletter, Clippings, a subscription to NAMI’s quarterly magazine, as well as access to optional subscriptions to specialty newsletters.
• Receive member discounts on brochures, videos, promotional items and registration at NAMI NC’s Annual Conference and NAMI’s Annual Convention.

NAMI Wake County offers all of these FREE opportunities for support and education:
If I can't afford regular dues, can I pay a reduced membership fee?
Yes, we want everyone who wants to be a part of our organization to be able to join. We offer "open door" memberships which allow you to donate whatever you can afford with a minimum of $5.00.
As a Member you will:
• Help strengthen NAMI Wake County’s voice when we advocate for changes to improve the system of mental health care.

How can NAMI Wake County help me, my family, and friends?
NAMI Wake County offers all of these FREE opportunities for support and education:
- NAMI Peer-to-Peer, a free, 10-session program for adults living with mental illness, to better understand their condition and journey toward recovery.
- NAMI Family-to-Family, a 12-session class for family members of adults with any serious mental illness.
- NAMI BASICS, a 6-session education program for parents and family caregivers of children and teens experiencing mental illness.
- Families Together for Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD - A 4- session class for families of individuals with BPD or symptoms.
- NAMI Family Support Groups for family members.
- NAMI Connection Support Groups for individuals living with a mental health condition.
- Information about the mental health system and resources available in our local area.
- Monthly Education Meetings on mental health topics of interest.
