NAMI Wake County Volunteer Opportunities
NAMI Wake County is a volunteer organization. All of our programs and advocacy are the result of the efforts of volunteer leaders and people, like you, who have a passion for building mental health awareness. Orientation and training is provided.

Fundraiser: Lead, create, or help with fundraising activities, events, campaigns, or grant research and preparation. DIY Fundraisers are welcome.
NAMI Wake Advocate: Write letters to the Editor, meet with elected officials and communicate NAMI Wake County’s mental health policy platform to the general public.
NAMI Wake Marketing Committee Member: Participate in marketing committee meetings and initiatives. Experience with web design, marketing campaigns and designing brochures is preferred.
NAMI Wake Program Committee Member: Participate in program committee meetings and initiatives. Review new and existing programs offered by NAMI Wake County. Make recommendations to Board and Staff to ensure programs meet the needs of NAMI Wake County members and contribute towards the NAMI Wake County mission.
Newsletter & Social Media Assistant: Assist with compiling, editing, and designing newsletter. Contribute to our social media sites.
Speaker’s Bureau: Share your personal story during a NAMI In Our Own Voice, Sharing Hope or Crisis Intervention Team Training presentation. NAMI Wake County presentations change attitudes, assumptions and stereotypes by describing the reality of living with mental illness.
